The Smart Integrated Infrastructure (SII) Growth Platform delivers state-of-the-art, innovative solutions to the municipal, energy, water, telecom, and transportation sectors all of which have become increasingly distributed and interconnected. SII leverages distributed infrastructure development capabilities with a high-end analytics platform to address opportunities in the areas of asset management, operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability to a wide variety of clients, including utilities, local and state government agencies, and the commercial / industrial sector. SII leverages Black & Veatch’s strong industry sector domain expertise to help clients improve system performance by enhancing communication, connectivity, data analytics and operational efficiency leveraging their developing and established integrated infrastructure.

Primary Purpose:
Commercialize intelligent distributed infrastructure solutions, technologies and initiatives within Black manage new products and accounts; and help to develop new solutions based upon industry experience and contact with industry partners, clients, and prospects. Candidates for this position must have a strong technical background, product or service implementation experience within the utility or renewable energy sector, communication networks, data analytics, a natural innovation curiosity, demonstrated solution development, solid business acumen, and a focus on client development and relations. The successful candidate will be able to leverage these skills into a position that implements business line strategies and develops and delivers SII solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Specify vision and market requirements for current and future integrated infrastructure solutions; develop core positioning and messaging for the solution
• Analyze and document requirements and use appropriate techniques to refine, decompose, review, and validate requirements. Ensure requirements are traceable, well communicated, and aligned to the overall business or solution vision
• Provide in-depth business & technical strategy for solutions, identify business gaps and correlate to potential solutions
• Manage product and solution life cycle of integrated infrastructure initiatives in the Built Infrastructure from strategic planning and development through to tactical execution. Serve as a Project Manager for initial solution implementations. Support or lead special projects and initiatives
• Coordinate and build strong working relations to drive solution development across various internal and external functional teams; lead system integration efforts as necessary
• Identify and manage potential partner relationships associated with the solution
• Identify and track business development prospects
• Coordinate client interface activities to ensure sales efforts are carried out to execute the strategic account plans leading to new projects and increased scope of work for existing projects
• Represents Company at industry trade shows, conferences, association meetings, and committee hearings. Identify which clients to target and which personnel within organization to contact at events
• Develops all aspects of proposals working with proposal manager; supports prospect capture and proposal development initiatives
• Supports business development client relations initiatives
• Responsible for the growth, delivery, and customer satisfaction of products and solutions, including go-to-market plan and initial implementations

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical specialty

Experience: 7-15 years; renewable energy, distributed infrastructure, telecom, communication networks or other innovative position with solution development background knowledge and domain experience

Demonstrated success in defining and launching innovative solutions
