Black & Veatch Management Consulting is seeking a Managing Director to join the Water Group of our Finance and Market’s Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development and engagement delivery. This includes management of a highly-skilled group of professionals providing services to global water, wastewater, and storm water management clients.
The major service areas supported include financial advisory (including cost of service and rate analyses), non-revenue water management, affordability assessments, planning, and storm water management feasibility. Related services include all aspects of asset management, transaction analysis, and business case evaluations.
We offer a broad range of strategic analysis services, including market assessment, core competence assessment, technology trend assessment, operational performance evaluation, benchmarking / performance targeting, competitive assessments, enterprise simulation / financial planning, executive decision support, strategic objectives development, gap analysis, strategic initiatives development/screening/prioritization and strategic implementation planning.
This position can be located anywhere within the US.
Responsible for all aspects of assigned engagements. Integrally involved in the process to acquire new clients and engagements. Direct the development of processes and techniques to improve operations and develop marketable service offerings. Provide input on the strategic plans for the organization. Utilize capabilities exhibiting thought leadership.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage the performance of the professionals in the Water Group
•Identify and implement measures to enhance the capabilities of the Group through hiring new staff and improving the skills of the existing staff
•Identify service offerings of greatest value now and in the future for our water utility client base
•Provide thought leadership in the water, wastewater, and storm water industry sectors
•Contribute to the overall strategic and business plans for the Management Consulting Business of Black & Veatch
•Develop processes and techniques to improve the Water Group’s business operations
•Network with key clients to market the Water Group’s current and future service offerings
•Manage the budgeting process for the Water Group, which includes implementing measures required to increase revenues and profitability
•Identify and address critical business problems promptly and effectively
•Work with client managers in other business units of Black & Veatch to expand the marketing of services offered by the Water Group
•Serve as a client director for selected clients and manage the process of capturing work and profitably delivering projects
Minimum Qualifications:
•BS Degree or equivalent work experience
•Manage multiple engagements simultaneously
•Three (3) years Business Development.
•12-15 years business/consulting experience.
