Black & Veatch Management Consulting Division (MCD) is selectively expanding within one of the world’s most respected engineering, consulting and construction management firms. We seek a Water and/or Wastewater Industry Consultant or Manager level professional to join more than 250 consultants, regulatory policy advisors, technology specialists, and internationally respected subject matter experts. The Finance & Markets (F&M) business line provides services based on a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach that integrates strategic, operations, financial and process-based advisory services to private and investor owned companies, municipalities, and government agencies. Within the F&M business line, the Water segment of the Financial & Regulatory Services practice consulting practice provides services in the water, sewer, and stormwater segments.
The successful candidate will lead and manage a range of consulting projects including financial planning and cost of service rate studies, economic analysis, business process efficiency studies; stormwater utility consulting; and expert testimony in the areas of water, sewer, and stormwater. In addition, the candidate will build and maintain client relationships, and provide project management to our water/sewer/stormwater clients in the Northeast U.S. region
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual should have 8 -12 plus years in providing consulting services to water, sewer, and stormwater utilities, and have a solid working knowledge of water, sewer, and stormwater utility businesses. Knowledge and experience with any and/or all of the following: project management; financial planning/rate studies; financial modeling; business process analysis and improvements implementation; stormwater utility feasibility and development studies; benchmarking and knowledge management studies. Strong experience in building and maintaining client relationships and managing the complete project life cycle with municipal and investor owned water, sewer, and stormwater utilities. Individual should be comfortable with defining study scope and approach and leading an internal multi-discipline team of engineers, consultants, and financial analysts. Experience with or exposure to municipality led water, sewer, and stormwater organizations is a plus. Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of personnel from executive management to staff in the client organization
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or science and a Masters in Business Administration. Experience: 8-12 plus years’ experience in water, sewer, and stromwaterwastewater engineering, operations or consulting, of which at least four (4) years should be in project management.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Experience: 8-12 plus years’ experience in water, sewer, and storm water / wastewater engineering, operations or consulting, of which at least four (4) years should be in project management.
• Experience as a consultant, or water, sewer, or wastewater utility manager or regulatory expert.
• Knowledge of municipal, county and state managed water utilities.
• A mechanical or civil engineering degree (preferred)
• Master’s in Business Administration is desired.
• Travel requirements for this position (primarily domestic) are estimated up to 25 to 30%.
