Black & Veatch is currently looking for a new permanent CDM Safety & Risk Consultant with strong CDMC skills based in the Exeter office. The role could be either full time or part time (3 to 4 days minimum).
, to provide CDMC services to external clients in the Water Civil Engineering Construction Market, but also potential to give Health & Safety (H&S) training, undertake audits and risk studies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Key duties and responsibilities: CDMC role – may be required to be based in clients offices in Exeter a few days a week. Site visits to assess existing site hazards, working closely with clients to ensure information passed onto design and construction teams. Champion clients safety programmes and set an example on behaviour. Produce statutory reports; pre-construction information and health and safety file. Review contractors documentation. Undertake site audits during construction, attend design and progress meetings. Chair buildability meetings. Key relationships and personnel for whom this person will be responsible: The candidate will make very close working relationships with clients. The candidate will be an essential part of a 7 person team all working on similar projects and able to support each other.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required competences: Working knowledge of CDM Regulations Civil Engineer or good construction site experience preferably on rivers or coastal projects. Driving license essential. CMIOSH or working towards. The applicant could be trained to the required standard of technical competence but must show a commitment to obtaining these qualifications. Academic & Professional qualifications: H&S qualification (essential) - H&S training regularly updated RMaPS, TechIOSH (essential) NEBOSH Construction Certification (desirable) IOSH SMSTS(desirable) Site experience, understanding of design ideally rivers and coastal (desirable) Background & Experience: Worked on civil engineering construction projects. Special requirements: Good communication and report writing skills Trustworthy Good Team Player Driving License
