Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering Standards: Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures. Quality / Continuous Improvement: Develops an understanding and complies with the B&V quality program. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Engineering Production: Contributes to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope. Prepares basic design sketches for drafting.Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection with supportive material. Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work. Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis. Checks manufacturer's drawings, logic diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagram drawings, and other B&V prepared drawings. Maintains engineering records and lists as required. Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Project Coordination: Shares information with others as requested. Coordinates with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership. Client Focus: Focuses on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers. May provide support to business development or pursuit activities. Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
Immediate position focuses on engineering and procurement for power plants. Corporate-wide assignments are in conjunction with engineering, procurement, planning, designing, and construction of: bridges, dams, military bases, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, hazardous waste facilities, power plants, hydro-electric power, and commercial and industrial facilities.
Job duties include preparing, analyzing and performing:
• Design calculations
• Databases for projects
• Mechanical system specifications
• Mechanical design drawings
• Pipe system and stress analysis
• Studies for future mechanical design analysis

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from either a recognized ABET accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. EIT/FE helpful. MicroSoft Office tools experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Note: This is an entry level position for new graduates with a bachelor's or master's degree if no prior work experience. No experience needed.

A demonstrated interest in the thermal sciences such as having taken technical electives covering energy conversion, design of thermal systems, turbomachinery, and/or combustion. Alternatively, interest in applying stress analysis techniques to piping systems is also preferred. Minimum GPA 2.75.
