Assists in preparation and review of lump sum, unit rate and cost plus estimates for EPC, design-build and hard bid proposals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for developing the detailed cost estimate for their discipline.
• Tasks include performing quantity takeoffs for all civil, structural and architectural scopes of work from conceptual to detailed design.
• Develops production rates and man-hours; and designs crews as required for their estimates.
• Performs reviews with subcontractors and vendors to verify scopes of work and ensure scope and price are complete.
• Explains scope and cost estimate for project presentations.
• Performs comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between projects.
• Updates and maintains historical cost data for their discipline.
• Reviews designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives where appropriate.
• Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred.
• 5 to 10 years civil and structural construction estimating experience is required
• Experience in large Power and/or Oil & Gas construction projects
• Construction Site Field experience is preferred
• Strong communication abilities in English
• Field experience is preferred but not required.
