Functions as a technical specialist or supervisory role. Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. May supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of energy projects. The job will include exposure to multidisciplinary energy portfolios. Must have the ability to see projects from concept through completion. The position will involve leading a wide variety of diverse assignments including: feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, market assessments, conceptual design, design review, detailed design and construction support. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, investors, government agencies, and other organizations. Essential responsibilities will include: lead and contribute to authorship of reports, studies, and proposals. Coordinate work with others in multi-disciplinary teams. Identify and understand client issues, and work collaboratively to develop and communicate creative solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. Professional Engineering registration in South Africa. Previous experience in supervising teams of 5 or more.
