Black & Veatch is currently hiring a new Site Infrastructure Engineering Technician to support Scottish Water SR15 Framework and non-Framework projects, in addition to other customers in other parts of the UK. The role is based in Glasgow, with the possibility of working from time to time at a co-located joint venture office in Stepps, North of Glasgow.
With minimal supervision, performs advanced functions requiring knowledge and use of electronic applications, standards and document control processes/procedures in support of creating and modifying deliverables. May provide technical guidance and direction to other engineering professionals including delegation of work assignments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibility: Production of drawings for detailed design for construction of site infrastructure including: • Structures • Buried main process and other pipework • Site drainage • Duct banks • Roads and pavings Client Focus / Communication: • Work with other B&V Water professionals • Work to procedures of B&V. People Management: • Understand schedule (programme) needs and advise on additional resource requirements. Complexity / Problem solving: • Adapt and respond to different and changing project situations and client requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and training: • Further education • AutoCAD Civils 3D and/or AutoCAD Academic and professional qualifications: • HNC or HND Background and experience: • Extensive and strong experience producing engineering drawings for structures, earthworks, retaining walls, pipework and roads. Knowledge Base: • AutoCAD Civils 3D and/or AutoCAD Site infrastructure. IT skills in: • AutoCAD products Personal Attributes: • Team player who can adapt quickly to different working environments and methods.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Education and training: • Revit or AutoCAD 3D MEP Background and experience: • Work on projects for Scottish Water Knowledge Base: • Revit or AutoCAD 3D MEP Skills: • ProjectWise or similar
