Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
. Design of power distribution systems and motor control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants.
. Design of ancillary systems including earthing systems, lightning protection systems, lighting/small power, telephone, intercom, UPS systems, and fire alarm and detection.
. Preparation of single line diagrams, electrical schematics, and GA drawings.
. Preparation and Reviewing of load studies including load flows, fault current calculations, and coordination studies.
. Preparation of electrical equipment specifications.
. Coordination with other disciplines eg civil, structural, building systems mechanical, and instrumentation & control designers.
. Attend meetings, discussions with clients, contractors, vendors and to participate/ lead design discussions.
. Provide engineering support in bids & proposals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience
