This position combines commercial, client facing and technical responsibilities for the delivery of projects within the GCC. These projects will embrace desalination and wastewater technologies. The individual will seek to grow this sector within the GCC. The individual will work closely with our existing resources, both Water and Energy staff, in the region together with expertise based in B understanding of global procurement and utilisation of global engineering resources would also be of benefit. The individual will need to show leadership in building the delivery team in GCC; be able to communicate across cultures and work closely with others within the organisations matrix management structure. The individual must be bilingual.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
People
Able to work closely with our clients to understand their needs and objectives. Able to communicate technically on desalination and wastewater technologies.
Manage project team during project delivery- both remote and on project sites.
Financial
Ensure the execution of projects is carried out within budget and to schedule.
Technical
Ensure quality by effective team communication and execution of QA procedures. Requires an sound knowledge of desalination technologies and understanding of wastewater technology,overseas procurement and project and design delivery within region
Safety
Ensure projects are inherently safe and compliant with all relevant safety standards (internal, client, statutory)
Commercial
Manage/record risks and changes. Manage budgets.
Organisational
Highly organised individual required to collate documents, issues and concerns relating to project matters for internal /external meetings, reviews etc. Ensure that action items are completed.
Sustainability
Ensure that at all stages of project that environmental and sustainability issues are considered and that solution gives least Whole Life Cost
Other
Provide strong leadership across the region related to project delivery. Build the B&V brand. Develop a team of professionals for B&V projects.
Programme
Able to manage bids/projects to schedule and provide early warning of schedule delays.
Minimum Qualifications:
20+ years experience
Previous Experience in water industry
GCC experience
Commercial experience in design and procurement.
Regular contact with clients.

Education/ Training
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering
Chartered/Licensed Engineer
Continuing Professional Development in required skill area
Backgound/ Experience
20+ years experience
Previous Experience in water industry
GCC experience

Experience of co-ordinating global resources
Knowledge Base
Significant experience of desalination projects, wastewater projects.
Familiarity with Regional and International Supply Chain

Excellent interpersonal skills(interface with Offshore team)
Excellent IT skills

Experience and proven ability to develop clients based on a technical understanding of desalination plant design.
