Primary Purpose:
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. May start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Power SCADA Sr. engineer with experience leading EPC projects, programming data concentrators/RTUs, protective relay IEDs (standard and custom SCADA), testing and commissioning systems throughout all aspects of electrical utility automation and SCADA integration upgrade projects.
Experience required in electric utility substation SCADA system upgrades, design, documentation, installation and testing. This includes conceptual and detailed system designs for transmission, distribution, and renewable substations. Experience required in IP based networking, serial communications, RTU/data concentrator and relay programming, HMI development and testing, as well as factory acceptance and site acceptance testing and documentation. Previous experience working with electrical utility engineering, operations, and testing departments is required.
Candidate must have a high level of understanding of legacy as well as current SCADA protocols such as DNP3 and IEC61850, substation LAN/WAN networks and standard power industry practices. Candidate must be willing to travel to site for client meetings, factory testing and system testing and commissioning, as required throughout the year.
As a lead engineer, the candidate will assist in tracking and reporting on all engineering related financials and progress of phases and tasks, and will coordinate with project manager(s) and client personnel to review designs, address construction issues, and resolve areas of concern. Internal lead responsibilities may also include supervision of contractors, assigned drafters, and subordinate Engineers as applicable to the scope of the project.
The candidate will also be tasked with assisting management with technical responses to proposals and assisting with staff hour estimates for new projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years experience performing substation integration and SCADA engineering related duties

Preferred Job Qualifications:
EIT and/or PE preferred

The applicant must have the ability to work in a team environment to meet schedule deadlines and budget targets. Also, attention to detail with good communication, skills both written and verbal, is required.
