Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will serve as the Project Manager (PM) on multiple small to medium size Renewable Energy (RE) consulting and engineering services projects to meet both Black & Veatch and multiple clients’ goals. The PM will develop new RE business and will work with the RE Sales and Marketing team under the guidance of the Project Director. The PM will help to implement the B&V Renewable Energy Business Plan and oversee budget expenditures supporting the plan. The position will likely focus on solar PV, wind and energy storage projects, but could include other energy technologies such as biomass, geothermal, and marine. This is a Seller-Doer position that can involve a wide variety of diverse assignments including: resource assessment, due diligence, siting, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, market assessments, strategic planning, policy evaluation, pro forma economic analysis, project design and construction management. In addition, this position will have some marketing and business development responsibilities. Candidate will work to establish and maintain relationships and develop a high level of trust and credibility with key clients. The Project Manager will also support the growth of the RE team by being involved with hiring and mentoring the professional staff. The Project Manager will work to plan and assign resources for renewable energy projects. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, investors, government agencies, and other organizations. Specific job responsibilities include managing consulting services projects, including scope definition, project staffing, technical oversight, responsibility for successful project execution on time and within budget, manage change, and client satisfaction.
