Contract-to-Hire Opportunity! The Planning & Scheduler position provides support to the project by maintaining and reporting schedule and cost. Under appropriate supervision, the incumbent performs routine project controls assignments according to training, capability and experience. With additional experience and demonstrated capabilities, the individual is expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex project controls assignments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilize knowledge of scheduling principles, theories, concepts, and industry standards to perform scheduling activities.
Obtain input from project team members, contractors, suppliers and client to support the development of a baseline plan, and subsequently to update schedule progress and forecasting.
Participate in meetings with the client to document and plan required deliverables.
Provide timely reporting to support the project team.
Serve as the point of contact for schedule development and update.
Assist the Project Controls team in analyzing the critical path of the project.
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly status reports highlighting issues which may delay the schedule and provide alternatives to mitigate any interruptions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Computer skills - Microsoft Office and if applicable to assignment Primavera
Communications skills – Good verbal and written communications skills for interaction with project teams.
Understand transformation of data to information - Ability to visualize how data can be transformed into information in the production of project controls reports for use by project teams.
Understand database concepts - Understands or able to learn quickly basic database concepts in order to manage data and information within systems. Understanding of how project controls issues relate to other company functions such as project accounting, procurement, QAQC, etc.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Prefer a minimum of 1 year in a project controls, estimating, or field engineering role with a focus on scheduling (P6)
Attention to detail
Strong Data Management Skills
Strong MS Excel Skills
Basic Understanding of Construction Management Principals
Some experience or formal training in creating or updating activities in Primavera P6 or other scheduling software highly preferred.
Field Engineering experience a plus.
Telecom deployment experience a plus.
Education: Four year degree in a related field or equivalent experience in other functional areas
