Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Shall be experienced to perform engineering in one or more of the following Mechanical design areas related to Oil and Gas projects: equipment layout, piping layout, piping design/ modelling, stress analysis and piping support. The candidate must have fundamental piping knowledge and pipe routing skills. Candidate must be able to read P&IDs and route complete large bore and small bore piping systems from P&ID's and vendor equipment data. Additionally, the candidate must also have a basic knowledge of pipe support systems and pipe support types for cold and hot systems and the ability to read and understand vendor drawings for tanks, equipment valves, etc. Responsibilities include, ensuring the design layout and drawings are complete and meet Black & Veatch requirements and all applicable codes and standards. Design layout and drawings shall be compliant with recommended practices, sketches, notes and any written or verbal instructions given, as well as all project design requirements. The candidate must be capable of performing field walk downs at client facilities for the purpose of determining field routings and tie-in locations. Significant experience with PDS is highly desirable. Experience designing and routing various power piping systems is also desired. Supervise a project engineering staff consisting of subordinate engineers, designers, and other assigned support personnel. This includes staff planning, work assignments, scheduling, personnel appraisals and work reviews. Develop and monitor project control systems including schedules, budgets, bills of material, etc. Effectively communicate with clients to manage and meet expectations. Oversee the coordination of engineering efforts as required to attain project objectives. Candidate shall have project lead experience of minimum 4 years and shall be capable to lead project teams. Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. 10 + years related work experience with at least 2 years of field experience
