Provide engineering design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international solar projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Be involved in all aspects of electrical design for solar photovoltaic projects, both rooftop and utility scale. The position will focus on conceptual and detailed design, procurement specification, design review, and construction oversight. Focus would be on electrical infrastructure, such as modules, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, collection systems, switchgear, and SCADA. A focus on design optimization for cost reduction and performance increase is required. Must have the ability to see projects from concept through completion. The position will include a wide variety of diverse assignments including: due diligence, siting, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, conceptual design, detailed design, design review, performance estimates, and cost estimates. The position will work closely with senior managers and engineers in the local office and across the globe. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, investors, government agencies, and other organizations. Essential responsibilities will include: prepare designs for assigned systems. This may include analysis, calculations, research, selection, layout, etc., necessary to develop required design documents. Coordinate work with others in multi-disciplinary teams. Identify and understand client issues, and work collaboratively to develop and communicate creative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Specific knowledge of solar energy technologies is required. Competence with the NEC is required. Minimum of 5 year’s of experience performing related duties in the solar or related energy industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email. Must be able to function equally well in collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments. Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines. Must have experience with solar energy projects, and specific experience with all major electrical equipment in a solar power plant. Experience with utility interconnection procedures and processes a bonus.
