Primary Purpose:
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. May start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare equipment data, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, filters, towers or package equipment. Prepare requisition and technical specification for Petro-chemical equipment, thermal rating for heat exchangers and basic and detail design for petro-chemical equipment, including mechanical calculation and drawing. Evaluate vendor bidding documents, including proposals, data, reports, drawings, etc. for conformance with Black & Veatch criteria. Work with project members on scheduling and cost and be able to coordinate with other disciplines and/or vendor for equipment layout, process datasheet, instrumental connection.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Experience in pressure vessel and heat exchanger design. Knowledge relating to material selection, Autocad, HTRI and Compress. Must have knowledge of ASME and/or TEMA codes.Knowledge of other mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors and other rotating equipment a plus. Written Communications, Drive For Results, Decision Quality, Priority Setting, Planning, Delegation, Directing Others, Conflict Management, Informing, Listening, Dealing with Ambiguity, Customer Focus, And Building Effective Teams. Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline Intermediate knowledge of other disciplines Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned. Intermediate industry knowledge and technology trends Intermediate knowledge of company quality program Intermediate knowledge of construction & constructability practices & principles Intermediate knowledge of procurement & contract administration Working knowledge of process, procedures for project controls and estimating Supervisor Competencies
