Primary Purpose:
Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs detailed phases of pipe stress analysis engineering work and pipe support design. Develops alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems. Coordinates with personnel in other departments, project managers and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern. Performs special studies or analyses involving review, research calculation, selection, etc., to develop required reports. Develops sketches of complex pipe hangers including simple steel framing concept. This position will provide the incumbent with opportunities to work on diverse Energy related projects such as Combined Cycle and Coal-Fired generation Plants and Air Quality Projects. Many of these projects may require travel and/or short term field assignments both domestic and international. Typical field assignments would involve field walk downs and data gathering at Client facilities or pre-operational inspections of pipe hanger installations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program along with PE Licensure. Minimum of 5 years of experience performing engineering related duties. Preferred software experience includes Caesar II pipe stress analysis and use of 3D piping design software to enter pipe hangers. Analytical skills, creativity, initiative, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, mathematical skills, writing skills, problem solving skills, ability to cope with moderate to high levels of stress, MicroSoft Office skills, ability to operate sampling/monitoring equipment, health and safety protective gear.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Ability to read plan and section 2D piping drawings or isometrics to develop a piping stress model. Ability to visually use a 3D piping model. Ability to develop and manage procurement contracts. Experience supervising and mentoring the pipe stress engineering of other engineering professionals on a project level. Experience with Caesar II desirable. Experience with Plant Vision desirable. Experience performing pipe stress for high energy steam systems desirable. Excellent working knowledge of B31.1 Power Piping code.
