The successful candidate will lead and manage a range of consulting projects including financial planning and cost of service studies, economic analysis, business process efficiency studies; gas and electric utility consulting; . In addition, the candidate will build and maintain client relationships, and provide project management to our gas and electric utility clients
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual should have 7+ plus years in providing consulting services to electric and gas utilities, and have a solid working knowledge of gas and electric utility and renewable businesses. Knowledge and experience with any and/or all of the following: project management; financial planning/rate studies; financial modeling; business process analysis and improvements implementation; utility feasibility and development studies; benchmarking and knowledge management studies. Strong experience in building and maintaining client relationships and managing the complete project life cycle with municipal and investor owned utilities. Individual should be comfortable with defining study scope and approach and leading an internal multi-discipline team of engineers, consultants, and financial analysts. Experience with or exposure to utility or renewable organizations is a plus. Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of personnel from executive management to staff in the client organization
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or Economics preferred) or relevant work experience. Master’s degree preferred. Typically 7+ years experience in a business/consulting environment.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
This is a virtual position but proximity to Atlanta is highly desirable. Demonstrated consulting experience and success in strategic and economic planning and as a regional market expert for Gas and Electric utility plant output– Expert in PROMOD (5-10 years) required Ability to work independently and as part of a team to lead, support and complete consulting engagements – Develop market reports ( Energy Market Perspectives - EMP) in support of financings – Perform Regional Market Expert responsibilities and support development of EMP – Must have experience with gas and electric utility revenue projections and power plant asset valuation. Oversee emission modeling in development of EMP Demonstrated regional market expert , strategist and planning expert at a consulting firm - Expertise in performing emission and carbon modeling- Expertise in performing renewable integration studies – Expertise in performing IRP – Integrated Resource Planning and DSM/EE – Demand Side and Energy Efficiency studies – Expertise from a consulting environment with the development of base case product Expertise in technical and business report writing and presentations -
