Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include participation in the technical preparation of various studies, conceptual design, and detail design in the role of design structural engineer working under the supervision of senior engineers on assigned projects. The position requires preparation of structural design engineering including layout, analysis, and calculations for steel structures and/or foundations. This includes basic analysis, design calculations, equipment research, sketches, and requires significant multi-discipline interface, to prepare documents, specifications, and drawings to meet project requirements. Additional responsibilities include review of submittals, interface with vendors, contractors and Owners.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a BSCE degree minimum from an ABET accredited institution or foreign equivalent. Course work must have emphasized structural engineering courses. Candidate must have a working knowledge of codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC and equivalent Canadian Standards. A working knowledge of structural design of power generation facilities is preferred. Successful candidate will have 5 years minimum experience preferably in power generation facilities, but petrochemical or other heavy industry may be considered.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Candidate must have PE license (or be in active pursuit of such). Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office software, MathCAD, GT Strudl, Risa 3D, and SP Mats.
