Primary Purpose:
Functions as a technical specialist or supervisory role. Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. May supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, coordinate and
direct the Instrument/Controls
engineering work for a major
project, or several smaller, but
complex projects, or for the design
within a specific discipline. This
includes work assignments,
staffing, scheduling and design
review.

Develop or evaluate plans/criteria
or special analyses required in
support of the Instrument/Controls
effort for each project.

Coordinate the design of assigned
systems or projects with B&V
personnel and/or while managing the
client.

Maintain Instrument/Control
records, lists and reports as
required to ensure compliance with
the client's schedule, adherence to
the project budget, adherence to
procurement specifications, or to
ensure Instrument/Control problems
are monitored and resolved.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of at least eleven years project experience in
Instrument/Controls Engineering
within the energy market sector.

Requires a Bachelors Degree in
Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical
Engineering and must be registered
as a Professional Engineer (P.E. or
P Eng.).

Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
experience required.

Excellent written and verbal
communication skills required.
Foreign language skills helpful.

Must be willing to participate in
construction jobsite engineering
activities.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Preferred candidate should have
design experience in power
generation or applicable industry.
Operations or start-up and
commissioning experience coupled
with design experience is a plus.
Design activities should include
control system definition and
selection, control logic drawing
development, instrument
specification and contract
management, and a thorough
understanding of electrical
schematic and wiring diagrams.
