Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform work in the Power Delivery Section with an emphasis on substation design and supervision. Candidate must have working knowledge of high voltage equipment selection and sizing, schematic development, substation design through 345kV, including proposal and specification preparation. Candidate must possess good leadership skills and will provide technical direction and oversight of project teams for high voltage substation design projects. The candidate will also be expected to plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for an assigned portion of a major project or a total project of moderate scope. Duties include supervision of the engineering work of assigned drafters, designers, and subordinate engineers. This includes work assignments, scheduling and review. Candidate will also be expected to coordinate and communicate with personnel in other departments, project managers and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern. In addition, candidate may perform special electrical system studies or analyses involving review, research calculation, equipment selection, etc., to develop required reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A minimum of 5 years experience in high voltage substation design required. The preferred candidate will have substatinal experience with most or all aspects of substation design, including equipment and bus layout, spacings and clearances, grounding, raceway, protective relaying and control, wiring, lightning protection, battery sizing, and AC/DC station service design. The candidate must have EIT/FE certification and the Professional Engineer (PE) license in the USA or be in active pursuit of such registration if not already registered. The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be flexible, willing to embrace and promote change. Must have excellent time management skills, be highly motivated, team oriented, detail oriented, and a sound decision maker. MicroSoft Windows, Excel and Word experience required.
