Primary Purpose:
• Reports to the Lead I&C Engineer/Discipline Head/Manager, supervised by the Lead Designer. • Responsible for performing difficult and complex work assignments in Instrumentation Design & Drafting involving independent judgment to meet project goals. • strong understanding of basic engineering and/or design/drafting concepts • Should have general understanding of other disciplines' roles in the design process. • Should be able to utilize CAD and 3D CAD tools (Smart Plant (SP) / PDS), SPI/INtools and other software to perform duties. • Should be able to plan work and meet deadlines and manage priorities. • Should be able to maintain confidential information. • Should regularly interface with Lead Designer and Departmental staff as required. • Should have experience in the preparation and delivery of Instrumentation Design deliverables in Refinery/Petrochemical/Chemical/ Power Plants/LNG/Oil & Gas onshore and offshore projects. • Should be able to perform field surveys independently with regard to Instrumentation deliverables. • Should review/resolve 3D model interferences/clashes, interface and coordinate with other disciplines and ensure smooth workflow • Should be able to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and/or other project personnel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering Standards: Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and maintaining a working knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures. Quality / Continuous Improvement: Ensures that deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing an understanding and complying with the B&V Quality Program. Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Engineering Production: Learns the applications required to modify less complex deliverables based on a variety of design inputs. Project Coordination: Coordinate deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors. Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development. Support field activities. Client Focus: Focuses on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers. Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes . May apply judgment and makes decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma/Bachelor's degree of instrumentation and control engineering. Atleast 6 years of experience as an Instrument Designer in Refinery/Petrochemical/Chemical/ Power Plants/LNG/Oil & Gas onshore and offshore projects.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Diploma or Certificate preferred. Non-Technical Familiar and hands on experience in Microsoft Word & Excel. etc Shall be highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills Flexible approach and able to work under deadline pressure with a cooperative approach. Ability to promote an open and informal environment of mutual trust Technical: Experience in preparation/performance of the following: - 3D Modelling (using SP / PDS) of instruments, panels, junction boxes and Cable Trays/Raceways/Conduits in the plant model in an interdisciplinary environment and extraction of drawings in AutoCAD. - Cable tray routing Layouts -Instrument and Fire Detector Location Plans - Instrument installation and hook-up drawings -Instrument Air Distribution Layouts - Instrumentation MTO - calculations for junction box sizing, cable schedules, cable sizing, and conduit sizing. - Cable schedules - Loop diagrams - Junction box termination drawings - Electrical power supply system for field instruments -control schematics -Input the required design data into instrument index in SPI /INtoools Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures. Basic industry knowledge and technology trends Basic knowledge of company quality program Basic ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned. Basic knowledge of other disciplines Basic knowledge of construction & constructability practices & principles Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides related to assigned engineering discipline
