Typically supports multiple projects on the very complex technical challenges. Actively advances knowledge management of the enterprise and provides mentoring.As a subject matter expert, has additional expertise in a technical area, participates in professional societies by presenting papers, participates on technical committees, and assists with code/standard authoring. Is externally recognized in industry as an expert which enhances the Company brand.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Discipline (Mechanical) Conceptual Design Manager is responsible for developing the discipline conceptual design approach for proposals and guiding the completion of discipline conceptual design for the awarded project work.The Discipline Conceptual Design Manager is also responsible for coordinating the staffing to complete proposals and to develop a consistent conceptual design approach for all types of proposals / projects. The Discipline Conceptual Design Manager is accountable for discipline conceptual design technical aspects of all proposals and makes overall discipline engineering proposal execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, and contractual commitments with fair amount of knowledge of economic repercussions.Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. May supervise engineering staff on proposals / projects of medium to high complexity, or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise.
The Discipline (Mechanical) Conceptual Design Manager should have hands on working experience and sufficient domain knowledge of Mechanical Engineering aspect of systems / packages in Coal based Power Plants and / or Liquid or Gas based Simple Cycle / Combined Cycle Power Plants.
Minimum Qualifications:
BE / B.Tech / ME / M. Tech(Mechanical)
Experience (Years)
15 years and above in Power Plant
Software skills:
Microsoft Office – Required
AutoCAD – Preferred
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings and other documents-Intermediate Set-up & perform project controls functions on smaller, less complex projects-Intermediate Ability to do material takeoffs and field estimates-Advanced Advanced communication, organizational skills Safety Regulations-Intermediate Discipline engineering experience-Advanced Supervisory skills-Advanced Contract Administration-Advanced Ability to direct craft activities/understand craft dynamics-Intermediate
