Based in the Mumbai Office; this position reports to the Indian Managing Director and has India wide responsibility for Construction Operations for all businesses. Accountable for success of construction business development efforts and for project construction execution processes. Has responsibility for assuring availability of resources with proper expertise and tools to support construction project execution. Has authority to allocate resources and make construction execution decisions for projects in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, Guides and Contractual commitments
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and directs administration of the construction operations team and personnel assigned to the construction projects under his area of responsibility.
• Develops construction execution plans for projects and proposals with the view to minimize cost and duration of construction activities.
Provides construction solutions for construction projects and proposals
• Provides India wide construction support for project offices for proposals, project planning and project execution and works with the Businesses Development Groups to evaluate construction opportunities.
• Review, evaluate and monitor potential partners and contractors and make recommendations on potential partners and subcontractors that fit well with B&V ethics and ways of conducting business.
• Accountable for the performance of all construction projects and reports to India Country Manager plus participates in meetings and telephone conferences as needed.
• Responsible for providing recommendations to the President Construction and Procurement regarding project staffing assignments/teams, issues of concern inclusive of schedule, procurement, safety and cost issues.
• Advise on procurement and vendors in assigned area as needed.
• Acts as liaison between offices for all construction related matters.
• Communicates lessons learned.
• Enforces and interprets division and department policies, standards, and procedures.
• Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
• Supervises work of others.
• Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of the direct reports and their staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will be degree-qualified with at least 20 years of experience, of which at least five years will have been at a senior site manager level. The candidate’s career will demonstrate a steady progression of increasing levels of responsibility on complex projects. Experience must include management of either large coal or combined cycle projects and/or large Oil & Gas projects, exposure to water and wastewater treatment projects will advantageous. Extensive work experience in India construction industry in the leadership roles, with extensive knowledge of Indian Contractors and Multinational participating in the Indian construction industry
