Primary Purpose:
Functions as a hydropower technical expert and in a supervisory role. May supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise. Support marketing and proposal efforts, and work with existing and new clients to negotiate project scope and costs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Consulting for hydromechanical design work performed for important clients through ongoing B&V Hydropower engineering contracts, and through new contracts. Support marketing and proposal efforts.
•Inspect project sites in Northern California and throughout North America with clients to assess project needs and write scopes of work for rehabilitation type of projects or new construction projects.
•Perform Post Design Services (construction support, field engineering, as-building among others) at various project sites in Northern California and other West Coast and national locations.
•Prepare feasibility studies, detail design plans and specifications, cost estimates for various mechanical systems in Hydropower and Large Hydraulic Structures projects.
•Evaluate manufacturer submittals, data, reports, etc., for conformance to drawings/specifications.
•Provide high level support to technical leaders of hydropower and hydraulic structures mechanical design work located in Sacramento, Kansas City, Portland, and Chattanooga.
•Lead multi-discipline engineering teams on medium and large sized projects.
•Coordinates the design of assigned systems or projects with involved B&V personnel and client management.
•Track schedules and work assignments of other engineers.
•Work with clients at various levels as lead interface, negotiating contract and task scopes of work, schedules and cost estimates. Market to existing and potential new clients.
•Provide support to hydropower and hydraulic structure engineering pursuits.
•Supervise staff including annual review process, mentoring, and guiding others from entry level to equal technical level.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Client satisfaction orientation.
Experience and specifically hydro power generation with high level of responsibility of projects and programs.
Leadership role and marketing experience.
Will visit new and existing Powerhouses, must climb ladders, access confined and tight spaces, and work at heights
