Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accounting and Financial Reporting for various Black & Veatch entities, including International entities
• Reconciles assigned accounts to identify and analyze potential balance sheet risk items
• Preparation and data input of journal entries
• Monitors and balances between systems to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Cross-functional coordination of tasks with various areas of Black & Veatch Corporate Finance, including International and Domestic Tax, Payroll, Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and Treasury
• Periodic interaction with Business Unit Financial Reporting and Project Accounting Teams
• Participation in external audit for local KC office and for International entities as needed
• Recognizes and communicates opportunities to develop/enhance basic policies and procedures
• Participates in cross training and delegation of work to others
• Performs special projects as directed by management or other businesses

Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience

• Possess a unique blend of attention to details as well as an overall understanding of the "big picture"
• Competent in Black & Veatch financial reporting and source systems (DSS, BIC and Oracle) and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
• Fluency in Spanish a plus
