Functions in an entry level engineering technician capacity. Under close supervision, performs entry level work requiring basic technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverables. The individual typically possesses a working knowledge of basic CAD or other electronic tools and/or design skills through education they received prior to employment with Black & Veatch.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and modify drawings based
on sketches, mark-up copies or
verbal instructions. Develop
necessary details with minor
supervision. Learn and maintain a
working knowledge of project and
company CAD standards.
Understanding of engineering design processes and document control procedures.
Individual will be expected to
perform design drawing tasks in the following areas:
• Civil Site
• Foundation
• Structural Steel
• Architectural
Minimum Qualifications:
Drafting Diploma or Certificate.
Diploma or Certificate. Associate or Bachelor Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
AutoCAD 2012 (or higher version)
skills required. MicroStation V8 or other electronic tools and or design skills a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary. MicroSoft Office
- Word, Excel & Outlook skills
required.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Civil, Structural and/or
Architectural course work preferred.
Minimum 2.75 GPA.
