Primary Purpose:
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. May start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Electrical engineering for power substations, including: design new transmission level substations and planning retrofit design for existing substations; take active role in project conceptualization, work planning and project execution; work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.; work with designer to develop substation single line diagrams, relaying & metering diagrams, DC schematic diagrams, substation plan & sections, grounding plans, etc.; prepare protection & control drawings; apply engineering standards including NEC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI; coordinate all engineering efforts from initial scoping phase to construction support; project cost estimating and tracking; schedule development and resource allocation; material specification development and coordination with procurement group; serve as technical point of contact for the client; coordinate engineering work with construction activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 4 years of related experience. Must have Professional Engineering (P.E.) license. Experience must include substation engineering experience, including protection and control design for substations; substation construction and inspection; site safety knowledge and experience; use of Software tools such as CAD, ASPEN. Must have experience applying engineering standards including NEC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
