Primary Purpose:
Mid-level engineering position with capability of producing a full spectrum of project design documents, and performing engineering analysis.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn and follow Black & Veatch design guides, standards, and systems, while adhering to company policies and procedures. Independently apply knowledge to assigned tasks with limited supervision. Recognize, define and resolve issues within assigned area. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external clients; initiating contact with clients and team members as needed to coordinate details of the work. Adheres to scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Prepare a variety of engineering deliverables which includes such things as specifications, calculations, equipment selection, drawings, and reports. Ability to work as a team and provide supervision of lower level engineers or technicians.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program. Minimum 3 years experience directly related to duties and responsibilities.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
EIT/FE highly preferred. PE or ability to obtain PE within 1-2 yrs desired. .Self-starter. Knowledge of other disciplines, industry practices, and technology trends. Experience reading and developing engineering drawings. Field observation of construction and constructability practices. Proficient with NEC, NESC, and application of industry standards such as IEEE and ANSI. Experience with ETAP, SKM, or similar engineering programs. Knowledge of principles for procurement & contract administration. Desire to learn distributed control system architecture, instrument selection, and application of principles. Practical experience in use of database programs for circuit and raceway development and drawing review.
