The Telecommunications Division delivers telecommunication infrastructure solutions to utilities, local and state government agencies and the commercial wireless industry. Through a unique combination of experience, expert resources and innovative solutions, Black & Veatch supports the entire range of both legacy and emerging technologies used in today’s wireless and wireline networks, voice, video, Internet and data systems and utility automation.

Primary Purpose:
In the Utility Automation business line, solutions are provided for SCADA, substation automation, and distribution automation projects, and include project management, engineering and design, procurement, and construction services. The Project Manager manages small, minimally complex projects. Manages one to a few clients and/or projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Capture and manage assigned Utility Automation Projects and assigned project proposals.
Roles and responsibilities include:

• Responsible for capturing new clients/business and new-business with existing clients
* Coordinate with Division Operations to secure appropriate project personnel resources
• Lead team in development of project execution plan
• Manage project execution to meet client and company expectations
• Win repeat business and scope expansions with assigned clients
• Lead proposal efforts for assigned Request for Proposals

Goals/metrics:
New business capture from new and existing clients
Project schedule, quality and financial performance
Project PGM earnings
Success rate on assigned project proposals

Minimum Qualifications:
Project management skills including scope management, scheduling, budget management (P&L), team leadership, contracting, and risk management. Experience in engineering and self-performing /subcontracting substation SCADA and distribution automation solutions. Understanding of utility automation technologies, management structures and internal decision-making.
Education: BS Degree preferred
