Manages large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners or medium EPC projects Manages multiple clients and /or projects where the project team, client structure and/or project location present greater challenges
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Enhancing Black & Veatch external and internal brand in winning a full range of EPC projects in Americas; • Developing professional relationships with key clients, partners, supply chain and prospects in the US and providing strategic leadership for major pursuits within the assigned markets; • Collaborating across the regional structure of Black & Veatch to colleagues on near-term and long-term opportunities; • Bringing new winning strategies to the proposal and RFP process; • Leading the preparation of industry & sector specific materials, and divisional and corporate reporting related to marketing and pursuits; and knowledge of client and competitor submittals. Attributes: Has knowledge and contacts with contractors/subcontractors/suppliers in the assigned market area. Has knowledge of Project Owners in the area. Awareness of national/regional issues that impact water business and construction industry. Capabilities: Understands the full spectrum of alternative delivery Able to digest Owner planning documents and understand future needs Able to assess feasibility / reality of alternative delivery prospect relative to true project need/drivers, political environment, institutional client constraints, schedule Able to engage with contractors and suppliers in meaningful strategy and business discussions. Able to meet with project owners and engage in meaningful discussions. Ability to network internally with B&V professional services and EPC operations professionals. Ability to understand and embrace B&V governance and lead WPRB approval process. Understands the fundamentals of Teaming Agreements / MOU's and able to suggest appropriate strategy and timing for getting agreements in-place. Understands the fundamentals of contracts relative to principle business issues and knows how to effectively avoid or mitigate risks. Work with commercial and risk management personnel to develop acceptable proposals and EPC contracts.
Minimum Qualifications:
12 years exp BA or BS required, Master's preferred - Business, Construction Management or Engineering.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Majority of professional career experience should be with design/build contractors or construction contractors - General business /sales background - Broad experience in construction / contracting industry - Strong emphasis on water/wastewater business
