Functions in a junior level capacity. Responsible for performing routine aspects of consulting and specialty assignments requiring increased knowledge and application of basic principles in practice area. Works under close supervision of a team leader.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
This position involves performing emission estimation, air dispersion modeling, preparation of air quality impact sections of permit applications, meteorological/climatological studies, regulatory interpretations, cooling tower drift modeling, odor modeling and other air quality specialty modeling.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in engineering or professional degree in Sciences in area of expertise preferred with specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities. A minimum total of 1 year of related work experience is typically necessary to move into this level. Graduate work may count as related work experience if directly applicable to job function.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Entry level, coop student or other work experience in related field helpful but not required. Previous air quality modeling assessment and/or familiarity with air quality dispersion models is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email. Must be able to function equally well in collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments. Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines. Microsoft Office Suite.
